explains that the House and Senate recently passed a robust stimulus package that would enlarge the existing ship channel. The Port of Houston
is the nation’s largest port by tonnage and handles about 50 deep dread ships every day, 300 million tons of cargo a year in volume, and supports three million jobs nationwide. In 2019 cargo tonnage volume rose 6%, with more growth expected to come.
